Energy Efficient Commercial Complex at Kathamandu,Nepal
Southern Illinois University of Carbondale
M.Arch Studio Project - Fall Semester 2014
With energy crisis at peak, Kathmandu must endure up to 14 hours of load-shedding per day. In response, the challenge is to design the energy efficient commercial complex in Kathmandu that utilize the passive solar techniques and renewable energy resources available in the site, so that it can run on minimum external energy resource but still able to provide all the services and amenities. Study focus on careful analysis of the climatic data throughout the year and analysis of site elements and how they can be included in the design strategy from very preliminary stage. Series of calculation and computer based simulations using IES VE software are used to determine how building performance can be optimized in terms of building massing, orientation, Solar thermal heating and cooling etc.

Rio Olympic 2016 Legacy:
Masterplan & Hotel Design
Southern Illinois University of Carbondale
M.Arch Studio Project - Fall Semester 2014
AECOM won the competition for the master plan design contract for the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic and the project is currently under the construction phase. Design of AECOM includes three phases: the Rio Olympic Park area during the 2016 Games, a transition plan and the final position showcasing the site in legacy mode after 2016. The Objective of our studio project was to propose the new master plan for the legacy mode for the portion to the Site in Barra da Tijuca. Designing new spaces and places while giving respect to the old and demolished is crucial for the livability and success of a project. Consisted of two phases:
Stage I: Master-planning of Community on the site used for Rio Olympic 2016 after the event
Stage II: Design the hotel building on the site allocated in the proposed master- plan.

Musical Architecture:
The Music Academy
Institute of Engineering, Pulchowk, Nepal
B.Arch Thesis
Envisaged to create an architectural design that focuses on a person’s Auditory Perception within space. The intention of the project is to visualize a co-dimension of music and architecture and to explore and interpret the Parallels in built form at the same time fulfilling the functional purpose of the building. The building is provided with different Sound Installments hence building itself act as a musical instrument whose component parts like pipes, pillars and beams produce music by striking, vibration, and wind etc. The arrangement is such that the visitor feel the gradual change in Density, both architectural and sonic, when travelled from one zone to another also known as Crescendo and Decrescendo in music. Three nodes, which links the four zones, are the transition points which is treated with different accoustic materials like reflectors, diffusers, absorbers etc. as required by theme.
